Displaying Books

I’m going through a bit of a reading frenzy at the moment. These are periods when I can’t stop reading a particular book I’m into and during these times, I’m very frustrating to be around as I tend to ignore what’s going on around me and all I want to do is sit and read! Reading is a passion that I couldn’t live without and my home wouldn’t represent “me” if I didn’t have any books in it. Although I love to read fiction, I am also a bit of a junkie when it comes to Design books. Being able to flick through pages of beautiful images at a moments notice gives me so much pleasure, I literally get butterflies in my stomach. It’s so inspiring.

I find that the best way to display books is to dot them in piles around the house. I have stacks of books in almost every room and they are all next to some form of seating ie chairs, sofa or even floor cushions. I find that it’s so lovely to be able to flick through them when I happen to have a couple of minutes spare and it brings inspiration to my day. Displaying books in this way also makes a home feel more casual and they double as a display piece as part of your interior. While looking for images for this post, I came across a blog called bookshelfporn.com, I was so inspired by the images from this blog that all my examples below are from this site. If you love books as much as I do, I’d highly recommend that you take a look. Have a nice Tuesday.
